We organize ~ we vote ~ we win

My name is Terry Lough, for the last 16 months I was supposed to be living and working my best life in Europe. One month before my departure, they found a 3" tumor inside my spine. The diagnosis was stage 4 cancer, with no cure. This immediately took Europe off the table and I could no longer perform my job anywhere. I was given a year or two to live and that was a year and a half ago.

With the time I have left, as an alternative to Europe, I chose to focus my efforts on helping to flip Mississippi blue. It's important to me to have purpose, try to have a meaningful impact, and that my end-of-life time matters. Trying to help flip Mississippi Blue is that meaningful purpose for me. 

Since my diagnosis, I've traveled the backroads of rural Mississippi twice to talk to people out where they live. All throughout the state's small towns, I found there is serious dissatisfaction and opportunity for change. And, I found that Mississippi is "in play" more than people think and that Colom could win. 

With what I learned from having my boots on the ground, The Get rrr Done Party of America is going back to rural Mississippi, for the third time, starting October 1st and staying through the midterm election. This time for a series of get out the vote rally's that we are calling Mississippi Blue BBQ's, Hosting BBQ's in small rural communities and churches where political campaigns rarely go, is the objective. We're going to have a good time, eat good food, talk circumstances and politics, energize, and organize.

In 2024, Mississippi's election map was ruled illegal, paving the way for a fairer map. This change flipped two state senate seats and one seat in the state house, effectively breaking the Republican supermajority. And, Mississippi has three elections in the next three years to build on this momentum for political change and democracy for all.

Now is the time for the changes we need and deserve in Mississippi politics. We register to vote, we register voters, and nominate quality candidates such as Colom for Senate, at every level of government. A commitment to grassroots organization within community, friends, and family is crucial. If we unite in every county, community, and congregation, and turn out on election day, you, me, and democracy will triumph
